As an experienced special effects make-up artist I decided to pursue new challenges. Presently working as an integration aide supporting children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), learning disabilities, and challenging behavioral and physical issues, my fine arts background has aided greatly in developing creative strategies to help cultivate cognitive, social, emotional, fine, and gross motor skills with those I work with. The decision to go back to school has allowed me to successfully combine the arts, education, and the arts as a therapeutic outlet.
Currently I am completing my BFA in Art Education, with the goal of pursuing an MA in Creative Art Therapies. Meanwhile, I continue to work as an integration aide, teach art, and to provide opportunities to learn through the arts within our communities, while maintaining my personal art practice.
